There are a number of different cruise options on board the Lakeland Queen, each one lasting an hour which is the perfect amount of time to explore the Lake and indulge in some fantastic cuisine on board. The Lakeland Queen is more than just a cruise ship – every day there are three dining cruises available at breakfast, lunch and a coffee cruise.
Breakfast cruise
The breakfast cruise is the perfect way to start the day for the early birds. Onboard you will receive a hearty breakfast as you depart at 8am for an early morning cruise on Lake Rotorua. This is a great time of day to explore the lake and see the world around you as it wakes up.
Lunch cruise
The daily one hour lunch cruise is perhaps the most popular of the cruises and departs from the Rotorua Lakefront every day at 1pm. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and the captain talks you through the many highlights on the cruise, pointing out things you would not see from on land and explaining more about the history of the area.
Coffee cruise
If you don’t fancy eating onboard you can jump on the breakfast or lunch cruises and choose to sit back and relax with a nice coffee or tea. Enjoy the stunning views from the viewing deck as this stern wheel paddleboat takes you on your tour of Lake Rotorua.
Where to catch the Lakeland Queen
The Lakeland Queen depart from the Rotorua Lakefront which is situated just a couple of minutes’ walk from the CBD. The Lakefront is a great place to spend an hour before or after your cruise with plenty to do for the whole family including a playground and open parklands which are perfect for picnicking.
